We're thrilled to announce that HBO's The Penguin has won the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode and we are honoured to have helped bring the dark and gritty splendour of Gotham City to life.
Our team delivered 277 shots across 58 sequences for 6 of the 8 episodes in the series, which stars Colin Farrell in the title role. Led by our supervisory team in Barcelona, our global teams tackled complex 3D simulations, including the dramatic car bomb explosion that created a massive sinkhole complete with detailed fire, smoke, and debris.
Our VFX Supervisor Adrien Saint Girons was at the ceremony to accept the award alongside his fellow nominees. Congratulations also to ReDefine VFX Supervisor Carlos Miras Sepulveda and VFX Producer Julie Kubbillun, along with our incredible global teams.
